Employment Law Annual Update

The regulations that govern today’s workplace are extensive and ever expanding. Owners and supervisors have significant exposure and liability, in some cases personal, for violating these rules and regulations.

This is the perfect time for all Chamber members to obtain a better understanding of their compliance obligations and initiate new measures to better manage their Human Resource related risk. With that mission in mind, Timothy Kenneally of Foley & Foley PC will provide his annual Employment Law Update on November 12, 2014 beginning at 7:45 A.M. at the Chamber House.

The following identify compliance obligations and will be discussed during the upcoming seminar: to download copies of these resources, click here

  • A Risk Management Toolbox for Employers that addresses recent past, the present, and the future of Massachusetts and Federal Employment Law. That Toolbox is arranged as a checklist to help companies determine if they have kept pace with some of the recent developments in the law (their company’s compliance obligations);
  • A Synopsis of Massachusetts and Federal Employment Law and Workplace Regulations. We prepared this Synopsis to help companies of all sizes navigate the extensive and expanding regulations the govern their workplace.
  • An FMLA Survival Guide for Employers addressing intermittent leave and providing advice on how to manage and curb abuse; and
  • The Subject Matter Checklist for the Diagnostic Audit of Employment Policies and Practices. My firm uses this checklist as a roadmap when we conduct Attorney/Client privileged confidential and protected audits. These audits are a very effective way of identifying issues before they become time consuming and expensive distractions.
 Attorney Kenneally will be pleased to discuss any questions you may have about the information contain within these documents at the seminar.  We hope to see you there.
